Now we have both captains of the Iron Dragons. Please welcome Partick Luwis to the Washington State Summer Con from June 20th through the 22nd. Patrick played Alex in the final season of Cobra Kai and will be making a rare appearance in Puyallup this year to join the cast coming to Summer Con.
Patrick Luwis began honing his craft through roles in college productions such as Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), Biloxi Blues, The Mystery of Irma Vep, and La Bête. His dedication earned him the Robert Porterfield Prize in Theatre. Furthering his training, he studied at the University of Oxford and the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where he embraced acting and found his American accent a unique asset.
His screen debut came in 2017 with the short film Midnight Turkeys, but his breakthrough arrived in 2022 as Amanda Seyfried’s college boyfriend in Hulu’s The Dropout. This role opened doors to supporting parts in high-profile projects, including Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023) and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) and Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver (2024), where he portrayed Ivar. Additional TV credits include NCIS, Animal Kingdom, and Danger Force, alongside independent films like Meeting You, Meeting Me and The Gambler.
In 2024, Patrick played Axel Kovačević in Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2, where he was the co-captain of the Iron Dragons in the Sekai Taikai tournament. Despite no prior martial arts experience, he underwent rigorous training to embody the complex, layered fighter. Standing at 6’3”, Luwis brings physicality and depth to his roles. With upcoming projects like Apple TV+’s Rambler & the Birdie Machine and the independent film The Upside of Unrequited, Luwis continues to rise as a versatile talent in Hollywood.
Meet Patrick Luwis all weekend at Washington State Summer Con. He will be with us signing autographs, meeting fans, taking individual and group photos, and speaking on a can’t-miss panel. Tickets are on sale now at: https://wasummercon.com
