We can all see Hawk as he is coming to Puyallup in June. Please welcome Jacob Bertrand to the Washington State Summer Con from June 20th through the 22nd.
Bertrand’s breakout role came in 2018 as Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz in Cobra Kai, a YouTube Premium (later Netflix) series continuing the Karate Kid legacy. Initially recurring in Season 1, Hawk became a series regular by Season 2, earning acclaim for Bertrand’s portrayal of a bullied teen transforming into a complex, mohawked karate fighter. His performance, blending vulnerability and intensity, made Hawk a fan favorite through the show’s six seasons (2018-2025). Bertrand’s martial arts training, including four years of taekwondo and work with grandmaster Simon Rhee, enhanced his fight scenes.
Jacob Bertrand’s career began at age seven with a minor role in the 2008 film House and later starred as Henry in the sitcom Marvin Marvin (2012-2013) and voicing Gil in Bubble Guppies (Seasons 2-3, 2011-2016). He also appeared as Chip Chambers in iCarly (2010) and co-starred as Charlie in the fantasy-comedy film Jinxed (2013). His Disney tenure included starring as the titular character in Kirby Buckets (2014-2017), a Disney XD series about an aspiring animator, and playing Jack Malloy in the 2016 Disney Channel Original Movie The Swap alongside Peyton List.
Beyond Cobra Kai, Bertrand’s film credits include Rise of the Guardians (2012, voice), ParaNorman (2012, voice), and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One (2018). He voices Bam the Batmobile in Batwheels (2022-present) and has guest-starred in Parks and Recreation, Community, and The Middle. Bertrand co-hosts the Lone Lobos podcast with Cobra Kai co-star Xolo Maridueña and launched a YouTube channel, Three Floating, for the card game Flesh and Blood. In 2025, he appeared in the series Tempest.
