Who needs another Cosplay Superstar added to the Washington State Summer Con? Please welcome, the one and only, Knightmage to Puyallup on June 17th-19th. Michael “Knightmage” Wilson is internationally recognized for his crafting of amazing costumes and bringing superheroes to life while he is “off duty,” and an actual hero in his “on duty” career as a Deputy Sheriff.
Michael Wilson is currently a decorated 22-year Deputy Sheriff for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. He has been cosplaying since 2012. Having created over 300 costumes, Michael is an award-winning cosplayer with many of his creations being praised and displayed on numerous platforms in print and online. He is recognized as one of the most influential and diverse male cosplayers in the world. Along with judging cosplay contests Michael often hosts cosplay panels and workshops at conventions showcasing the creative, positive, inspiring, and supportive side of cosplay.
Having a love for acting and stunt work, Michael has worked on several Hollywood comic book movie productions. He was an alternate for the 2006 reality show “Who Wants To Be A Superhero” hosted by Stan Lee, and a spokesperson for the FX latex product, Zombie-Skin. He has also created costumes for some of the World Wrestling Entertainment superstars.
Michael uses his costuming to bring awareness and supports many charities, fundraising events, benefits, parades, birthdays, and hospital visits to children. He has worked with over 150 organizations around the world to fundraise and bring awareness to many causes. He received the “Presidential Volunteers Award” from President Barack Obama.
